CESSATION CLASSES

 

 

The Muscogee (Creek) Nation Tobacco Prevention & Control Program also provides access information for cessations classes.

The Muscogee (Creek) Nation Health Centers Offers Tobacco Abuse Cessation Classes throughout the year to our clinic patients. A referral from the clinic physician is all that is needed to participate in the program. The program offers a variety of techniques to assist with cessation including treatment with Zyban and/or nicotine patches if approved by physician.

Classes meet for 45 minutes, every 2 weeks, for a total of 6 classes. A series of daytime classes are offered 4 times throughout the year and evening classes are also offered during the spring and summer months.

CLASS 1:
Introduction to program and discussion of methods for quitting.

CLASS 2:
Understanding why people use tobacco.

CLASS 3:
Mastering the first few days.

CLASS 4:
Mastering obstacles.

CLASS 5:
Avoiding a return to tobacco abuse, how to handle times of crisis.

CLASS 6:
Review, photos, and certificates.
